Thank you, Antonio, for a perfect snorkeling tour! My husband & I just got married in Cozumel, March 5th, 2005, and wanted to arrange a snorkel tour for all of our guests. I contacted several places via e-mail, but got the most professional and helpful response from Antonio at Ocean Tours Cozumel. I had some requirements as we had a large group to accommodate, with some older people that I was worried might not be able to get on and off the boat. Antonio was the only one who responded and answered/addressed my questions and concerns.
He even reassured me about the weather when I was looking at extended forecasts before we left! He met with us when we got there, spent some time going over the details, and met us all the morning of the tour to get us all over to the boat and out for our day.
He also introduced us to Lorena, who makes videos/takes pictures while you're all having fun on the boat and in the water. She did an excellent job, and created a memorable video set to music for our guests to purchase at their option.
The crew on the boat were fun, helpful, and made everyone feel very comfortable, even the beginners. They took us to a couple of reefs where we saw many beautiful fish and coral, and then to the sunken ship, which was a lot of fun to look at.
The 53' catamaran is a great option for a large group, and the ladder that drops into the water makes it much easier to get on/off the boat.

My wife and another couple stayed at El Cozumeleno Resort January 7-14, 2005. My buddy and I booked our scuba diving through Ocean Tours, which has their main office at El Cozumeleno resort. I chose Scuba Du and Ocean Tours not so much that they were operating out of the resort that we were staying at, but from the favorable reviews on websites such as this and others. I started emailing Antonio at Ocean Tours about three months before the trip to book our scuba diving and was immediately impressed by the fast and friendly service and the quick answers to a Cozumel diving novice, such as I was. After booking the diving, I only then had to impatiently wait for January to come, so we could begin our vacation. Well January arrived and off to Cozumel and El Cozumeleno we went. I checked into the Ocean Tours office the first day of our dives and was immediately greeted by Jose, who was very friendly and helpful and got my buddy and I squared away with paperwork and free tanks of air, so we could do a little checkout dive right away to get our weighting squared away. Then that afternoon, we did the afternoon 1-tank boat dive as a beginning dive to acclimate ourselves to drift diving. Diving was arranged by Ocean Tours with their dive boats from Scuba Du. The dive boats operate out of another fine Cozumel resort, El Presidente. Due to the distance from the northern hotel zone where El Coz is, Scuba Du only comes to El Coz to pick up divers for the AM 2-tank dives. This was fine by me because the taxi ride to El Presidente allowed me to get a feel for the area. So we arrived by taxi at El Presidente and immediately jumped on the Scuba Du boat for my first salt-water, warm-water, drift dive. The first dive site was Paradise Reef, which is just about two minutes away from El Presidentes boat dock. After suiting up and receiving a good dive briefing from the divemaster, we giant strided in and began diving. Wow, the fish, coral, and marine plants and animal life were amazing. I've never experienced anything like this in my diving freshwater quarries and the Great Lakes shipwrecks. So I was really pumped about the next four days of two tank morning dives and a night dive. As the week progressed, I began adding on afternoon dives, for a total of three dives per day, for a total of 13 dives in 5 days. Overall, the charters ran by Scuba Du were excellent. The divemasters, Lucio, Eduardo, Pirate, and several others that I can't remember their names (sorry) were awesome in explaining to us what we were going to be seeing, current conditions and speed, safety procedures, etc. As a divemaster myself, I appreciated the pains these divemasters made to make each dive safe and successful. Even shallow dives had safety stops regardless of depth and time spent under. Diving the deep Punta Sur, they had deep stops built in and an extra long safety stop. So kudos to all the divemasters for their excellent work. They made sure they pointed out the special features and fish like lobsters, crabs, splendid toadfish, etc. for all to see. The night dive was awesome with octopus, squid, and lobsters galore.

Each afternoon after diving, I would take my gear over to the Ocean Tours office and give it to the staff and they would rinse and hang it to dry for what I considered a fair tip of $5. Every morning I picked my gear up and it was nicely folded and arranged in my dive bag. I didn't have to worry about anything at all, but diving.

Afternoons were spent in the Ocean Tours BS'ing with Antonio, talking about that days diving and everything else. Antonio is a great PR person and understands good customer service and provided it to a "T".

All in all, I would recommend using Ocean Tours and Scuba Du for your diving. I know I will be next year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or contact Antonio at oceantours@usa.net to book your next scuba safari in Cozumel.

My wife Karen and I had an excellent half-day aboard the Kay Kib in late October. We fish all over the Carribean and South Pacific and the Kay Kib is a great mid-size sportfisher with top of the line tackle (Penn Internationals with new line) and no rust or corrosion anywhere on anything - not even the bait knife (only negative is single engine - no problems for us, but if you did it would not be fun). George (Capt) and Ruben (Mate) are the best crew you could ask for - well-spoken and hard-working - lots of bait changes, sharpening hooks, checking and changing leaders, baits and heads and different tacks/speeds on a tough, windy, off season day. They were also great with our six year old, Connor.

Comments: Just returned 5/28/03 from Cozumel. The trip was great. We stayed at the El Cozumeleno hotel and had a ball. Antonio with Ocean Tours located at the Hotel "hooked us up"! Really he was great. He gave us information on all the activities, tours and things to do in general while in Cozumel. We booked an all day fishing trip on the Kay Kid with Captain George and the mate Ruben "pinky" , they were great. I have been deep sea fishing 15+ times on Charter and private boates and this ranked at the TOP. There were 6 in our party 4 adults and 2 kids age 12. the boat was very accommodating for the 6 of us and the fishing was superb. We caught 11 "Mahi Mahi" and 1 barracuda. The great thing was 6 of the mahi were over 40 inches with the largest being a little over 53 inces. Antonio took care of everything, after the fish were cleaned, all except the big one which I sent to Gray Taxidermy for mounting, Antonio arranged for our party of twelve to eat our fresh catch for the last two nights of our stay. 5 Star treatment. Now that I'm back in the States, back to work, I wanted to drop you a line [no pun intended]. You and your team made a memory my son and I will never forget. Your captain, crew and boat were excellent. From the moment we were picked up till our departure, they were knowledgeable, informative and down right nice people to be around. You should be proud to have people like them working and representing your outfit. Now to the good part, they had us on fish all morning, my son was hooked up, for a short time, to a Blue Marlin. Unfortunately it threw the hook. Shortly afterward, I hooked a Sailfish and had the time of my life for the next 40 minutes. The captain and crew were awesome. They let me do my thing and at the same time made sure the deck was clear and the boat was properly positioned. The fish was landed, pictures were taken, and the fish released to swim another day. We just want to say THANK YOU! to Ocean Tours and Scuba Du! We just got back from Coz and are already trying to figure out how to get back next year! ANTONIO - you are the best! He helped us with our trip planning and arranged everything we needed to make this an action filled, but not too exhausting vacation! His staff at the El Coz was great and helped us get ready to dive. Scuba Du! We had a blast. As newbie divers we were a bit nervous about current diving, but our dive master Eduardo was the best! He kept us with other new divers and took us on some great dives! He showed us all kinds of "wildlife" and took us through some great canyons and mountains of coral! Who knew it would be like "flying" through the grand canyon.... Eduardo was a great dive master, he dealt with an "almost out of air" situation (someone else's) with kindness and professionalism, kept the group together and kept adjusting our weights as we got more comfortable in the water. He made me feel welcome even when it took me longer to clear my ears while the rest of the group waited for me at the bottom. The staff also was very accommodating to a young teenage diver and their family! What more can I say! We will definitely use Scuba Du on any return trips we have to Coz. By then we will be "old hats" at diving and will be ready for more - and deeper - and longer - and more...........

I chartered the “Kay Kib” through Ocean Tours for May 13. The boat met us at the El Presidente at 8:00AM for a full day of fishing.
We trolled over to the mainland and began to troll up and down the coast. It seemed we hit fish every hour. Even with the wind increasing and the swells getting bigger our crew made sure there were 7 to 9 lines in the water with fresh baits. By 3:00 PM we had hooked 6 Dorado’s (Mahi Mahi) boated 5, raised 7 Sails with no hookups, and boated one Bonita Tuna.
The Captain said it was time to head back to Cozumel and the Mate had us choose the lures we wanted to try for Marlin. We were 3 miles off the El Presedente when we had a Marlin hit but not hooked.
I said to the Captain “well looks like we’re going to have to come back for another try” when the bridge mounted Penn International started to sing!
I boated my first White Marlin (first Marlin ever). Approximate weight 60 – 70 lbs and about 6’6” in length. I was very impressed with the concern shown the fish by the crew. It was in the boat no more than 1 minute, just enough time for pictures.

Many thanks to Capitan “George” and Mate “Ruben”. They were the hardest working crew I ever experienced. Special thanks to Antonio of Ocean Tours for finding me this operation.
The crowning event of the day was having the restaurant at El Presidente cook up 2 of the largest Dorado’s for dinner. With rice & beans and a salad ... it’s going to be tough to top this day!

I just now am able to sit down and write this note of thanks to you and your crew for making our trip to Mexico that much more enjoyable. My husband and the other couple we traveled with haven't stopped talking about their fishing trip. Upon reviewing our trip film and photos we are ecstatic with our catch and entire fishing experience. Aside from a little bit of uncooperative weather initially (so it goes!), all went smoothly and everyone had fun, even the few who chose not to snorkel. It was terrific having the whole boat to ourselves - more than enough room for our group of 20 - and as promised, the "Manta Boyz" were great hosts and guides. Several folks in our group were snorkeling for the first time and though it took a little talking to get them in the water, all were raving about it afterwards. Jorge and Ruben were outstanding in their efforts. The fishing was a little slow at first (a few grouper type fish and a yellowtail snapper) and they took us to that beautiful reef for lunch and snorkeling, but the afternoon turned excited. I credit them for our luck.They were relentless in their search. My son pulled in a beautiful sailfish and my husband, son and I all worked in 3 mahi-mahi at the same time with my daughter photographing it. The 2nd day of fishing the group of "men" went north and all six caught at least 3 each. Barracudas and wahoo, it was great. The trips were worth every penny. Next time we come to Cozumel, you will be booking our trips again.

I just wanted to tell you that the snorkel tour that our family took (the Janis family) was the highlight of our cruise trip!!! Pirate was a great tour guide for us. We loved the 3 areas he took us to, as we saw different things at each stop.


He was so helpful and always there with a drink for us. We did another snorkel trip in Grand Cayman but it wasn’t as great as your tour. The best part was having the boat to ourselves. If we come back we will definitely use you again and will recommend it to anyone who travels your way.

Just got back to Texas and wanted to drop you guys a note and give you a huge THANK YOU for all your help. Ocean Tours and specifically Antonio, Marco and Sara, were wonderful. I am already certified but my wife and kids took advantage of the Free Introductory SCUBA class in the pool and my wife and two kids loved it so much they decided to take a beach dive.


My wife was a bit apprehensive about breathing underwater but Sara was very helpful and assuring. Marco was very good with the kids and totally at ease with him. The beach dive was an incredible experience for my wife and kids. Sara was a terrific, she was very curtious and professional. The kids had so much fun when we hit the airport in Dallas my daughter was on the phone talking about the dive and trying to arrange someone to be her dive buddy (I guess I've been moved to second string). We swam with the Dolphins and the Sealions the day before but all they could talk about was the Dive. I have been diving Cozumel for 8 yrs. now and have dived with a lot of dive shops and no one can even come close to Antonio and Scubadu. My husband booked a family vacation to Cozumel and the El Cozumeleno for Oct 2007. Being an avid diver, with more than 12 trips just to Cozumel, he was very excited and pleased with the emails, prices and service he received when setting up our dives and excursions. We recently stayed at El Cozulmeleno last week. We found all the services at Ocean Tours to be very good. On our last day we took a chartered fishing boat for the day. Attached is what we caught on the way back to the hotel. It measured 91 inches. What a great day of fishing it was and Ruben and Jorge were great guides.

Just a quick note on your dedication and service with Ocean Tours! We dove with Ocean Tours over the Christmas holiday, 14 dive days out of 20 days on the island (29 dives total). They are TOP NOTCH and Antonio and his staff bends over backwards to make sure you are well taken care of, gear rinsed, accounted for and dry for each morning dive. Dive masters and Instructors are GREAT! My kids did the DSD and loved Pepe & Chris the instructors. We dove with Edwin as Dive Master 10 out of the 14 days, his attention to detail and attentiveness is a model for the industry. The 2 specialty courses (Drift & Boat) we took with Pepe were well worth it and his knowledge of Cozumel marine life and his outstanding leadership ability are what other instructors should strive for. The boat staff of Scuba Du are excellent, after the first couple of days, the boat crew knew where we like to sit, and always put out gear in that location, assisted in equipment setup and was always there to assist in entry and exits from our dives. All are a valued assets to Ocean Tours and Scuba Du!

The boat and staff of the Manta are outstanding and my family of 10 raved about the sunset tour, it truly was the highlight for the non-divers in our family.

How is the Island treating you? I would like to express my appreciation for the hospitality you blessed us with when we were on vacation and staying at the resort. I just wanted to say that the snorkel trip on the Manta was excellent. The Manta-Boyz are very cool. I did it twice for the experience. I was on Cozumel from August 28th to September 1st and the crew on that boat were very nice. I don't remember the captains name, but he was way cool and they all seemed to love their jobs their.
